Privacy Policy

1.Who we are

CimpleFi is a platform that lets members lease metered solar and storage capacity on operating energy infrastructure and receive energy credits from real generation (“the Service”). The platform is operated by CimpleFi (“we”, “us”), with plant operations carried out by our operating partner Seftekra. References to “CimpleFi” mean the platform operator.

2.What we collect

• Account data.During the pilot, membership is gated by an access code. We generate a pseudonymous member identifier for your session (for example “GM-F038E3F3”) and store the leases and energy credits attached to it. We do not ask for names, addresses, or government identifiers at this stage.
• Lease and settlement records. Lease size (kW), term, fee, metered energy credits, tariff, and settlement history — the accounting record of your participation.
• Fleet telemetry.Electricity production and equipment data reported by the plants’ monitoring systems (through vendors such as Growatt and Felicity Solar). This is machine-level operational data about the energy assets; it is not household personal data.
• Technical logs. Request logs (including IP address and user agent), error logs, and an append-only audit event log (lease creation, credit accrual, settlement, admin changes) used for security and accounting integrity.
• Local storage. A session identifier stored in your browser so you stay signed in. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

3.Why we use it

To operate the Service you asked for (leases, credit accrual, settlements — contractual necessity); to keep the platform secure and prevent abuse (legitimate interest); to keep accurate accounting and audit records (legal obligation); and, where you explicitly opt in, to send you product updates (consent). We do not sell personal data, and we do not use your data to train external models.

4.Sharing and service providers

We share data only with providers that help us run the Service: professional cloud hosting and source-code/backup storage providers, and the plant operator, which receives the operational data it needs to run the assets. Aggregated, non-personal fleet statistics (such as total generation) are published on the public telemetry dashboard. We may disclose data if required by law or to protect our legal rights.

5.International transfers

The plants operate in Nigeria and our systems run on professional cloud infrastructure, which may process data outside your country. Where personal data is transferred across borders, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms.

6.Retention

Lease and settlement records are retained for as long as needed for accounting, audit, and dispute purposes. The append-only audit log is retained indefinitely as the integrity record of platform operations. Technical logs are kept for a limited operational window. Pseudonymous account data is deleted when an account is closed, except where retention is required for accounting purposes.

7.Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Because pilot accounts are pseudonymous, exercising these rights may require verifying your access code or session. Contact us using the details in Section 11.

8.Security

We protect data with encrypted transport, access controls on administrative functions, atomic writes and rolling local snapshots of ledger state, and offsite backups. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data, we will notify you and regulators as required by law.

9.Children

The Service is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

10.Changes to this policy

We will publish updates here and update the date below. Material changes affecting existing members will be announced through the platform.
